When you’re the consistent one who has to hold everything together, emotions start to feel like a luxury you can’t afford.
This is the space where even you get to be human.
Online therapy for women seeking clarity, steadiness, and sustainable success in Massachusetts & Rhode Island.
Accepting new clients with free consults available this week.
You’ve spent years pushing through things that were never meant to be handled alone.
Navigating high-performance spaces while managing everyone else’s expectations can take a toll you rarely get to name. So, let’s name it…
-
You’re not “being dramatic.”
It’s your nervous system doing exactly what it learned to do in unsafe, unpredictable, or high-pressure environments.Overthinking is not a personality flaw, it’s survival mode dressed as productivity, perfectionism, or “being on top of things.”
-
Performing strength is what happens when the world taught you that being soft, tired, or needy wasn’t safe.
It’s the polished version of you that shows up because you were never given room to fall apart.
But strength shouldn’t cost you your sanity, your rest, or your wellbeing.
-
You are not "lazy" or "unmotivated."
Burnout is when your mind, body, and spirit are saying, "I can't keep doing this."
It can feel like: irritability out of nowhere, numbness, detachment, overwhelm with simple tasks, waking up tired, and running on fumes while still performing.

Individual Psychotherapy (Virtual)
✨ Welcoming New Clients in MA & RI✨
All clients begin with a consultation to ensure the right fit and a deeply personalized plan for care.
Individual psychotherapy at Yemaya Wellness Center is designed for women who carry a great deal; professionally, emotionally, and relationally and are seeking care that honors both their capacity and their humanity.
Our approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and intentionally paced. Sessions draw from cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavior therapies, feminist and relational frameworks, dance/movement therapy, and clinical hypnotherapy to support insight, emotional regulation, and embodied change. Care is tailored to your needs, your history, and your nervous system.
-

Group Psychotherapy (Virtual)
✨Now Accepting Applications MA & RI✨
All clients begin with a consultation to ensure the best fit and a supportive group experience.
Group psychotherapy offers a curated space for women who value depth, resonance, and healing in community. Groups are designed for those seeking connection without performance and support that feels grounded, affirming, and intentional.
Facilitated through a blend of skills-based approaches, somatic and movement-informed practices, and feminist, culturally responsive care, our groups support nervous system regulation, boundaries, and collective resilience—while honoring each participant’s pace and voice.
How We Work Together: Our Care Flow
-

1. Begin With a Consultation
A gentle, 20-30 minute video call where we learn what you’re carrying, what you need, and who on our team is the best fit to support you.
-

2. Initial Diagnostic Session
Your first full session is a 75-minute session where the real understanding begins.
From there, we co-create a “healing plan” that supports not just your mental health, but your boundaries, your identity, and your next season of life.
-

3. Recurring Therapy Sessions
Weekly therapy is where the deeper work begins — the integration, the strategy, and the skill-building that creates lasting change.
Together, you develop concrete strategies for navigating stress, relationships, burnout, emotional triggers, and the pressure to over-function.
When You’re Finally Supported by Someone Who Gets It.
There’s a different kind of relief that comes when you sit with a therapist who already understands the pressure, the expectations, the boundaries you weren’t allowed to set, and the version of strength you had to perform to stay safe. You don’t have to convince us you’re struggling. You don’t have to justify why you’re tired. You don’t have to shrink.
You learn to listen to your body, trust your emotions, set boundaries without guilt, and build a life that no longer runs on over-functioning. This is where transformation starts and will begin to experience:
✨ Easier, more grounded decision-making
✨ A calmer nervous system and fewer spiraling thoughts
✨ Boundaries that feel natural instead of scary
✨ Less resentment, more clarity
✨ Rest without guilt
✨ Emotions that make sense instead of feeling overwhelming
✨ Relationships that feel mutual instead of draining
✨ Freedom from the pressure to be “on” all the time
✨ A life that feels softer, steadier, and actually yours

Our Story
The heart behind Yemaya Wellness Center
Rooted in cultural affirmation and deep emotional restoration, this boutique-style virtual private practice offers a refined and intentional approach to mental health, blending traditional therapy with embodied healing practices.
The name Yemaya is no coincidence. In Yoruba tradition, Yemaya is the orisha of the ocean, the divine mother, and a protector of women—symbolizing both boundless strength and deep emotional depth. Just as the ocean both nurtures and cleanses, Yemaya Wellness Center serves as a space where Black women can release, restore, and rise, free from the weight of perfectionism and past wounds.
Founded by Jasmine Dowery, LMHC, a licensed therapist and registered dance/movement therapist, Yemaya Wellness Center was created with a singular purpose: to provide culturally attuned, sophisticated, and soul-deep therapeutic experiences that honor the complexities of Black womanhood. Jasmine understands firsthand the resilience required to navigate high-performance environments while carrying unspoken emotional burdens. Through Yemaya Wellness Center, she dreams of a space that guides clients in breaking generational cycles, setting firm yet loving boundaries, and cultivating joy without guilt.
At Yemaya Wellness Center, therapy is more than talk, it’s transformation. It’s movement, expression, and liberation. It’s an invitation to exhale, to unlearn, and to step fully into the softness and sovereignty Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color (BIPOC) deserve.

Our approach is culturally affirming, trauma-informed, and rooted in community, healing, and empowerment. We don’t offer one-size-fits-all therapy; we honor the lived realities of Black women and women of the African diaspora.
At Yemaya Wellness Center, we integrate evidence-based therapy with a deep understanding of how racism, gendered expectations, family roles, and the Superwoman Schema impact your mental health, body, and relationships. Sessions may include talk therapy, body-based awareness, creative expression, and mindfulness to help you not just cope, but reclaim ease, softness, and self-trust on your own terms.

Yes — Yemaya Wellness Center currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBS MA) for individual therapy sessions. If you are a BCBS MA member, you can use your in-network benefits for care with our clinicians.
What if I don’t have BCBS MA? Can I still work with you?
Absolutely. If we are not in-network with your insurance plan, you may still be able to receive partial reimbursement for sessions through your out-of-network (OON) benefits. Many clients use this option successfully.
Out-of-network benefits simply mean your insurance company may cover a portion of your session fee even if your provider is not in their network. Clients are often surprised by how much their plan will reimburse.
If you’re unsure whether you have OON coverage, we can help you check.
-
We partner with Mentaya, a HIPAA-compliant platform that handles all OON claim submissions on your behalf.
Here’s how it works:
• After each session, Mentaya automatically submits the claim for you.
• They track, manage, and follow up on reimbursement so you don’t have to.
• You receive the reimbursement directly from your insurance company.
• Mentaya charges a small percentage fee only when you get money back. This saves you time, eliminates paperwork, and increases the likelihood that you’ll receive the full reimbursement you’re entitled to.
If you choose to use Mentaya, we’ll send you the link to activate your account. It takes less than two minutes.
Can you help me understand my coverage?
Yes. We know insurance can be overwhelming, and we’re happy to support you.
Our team can help you:
• Check your OON benefits
• Understand your deductibles and reimbursement rates
• Navigate both BCBS MA and private-pay options
• Set up Mentaya if you choose to use itWe believe clarity supports healing — and you deserve ease at every step.
-
Yes, we offer private pay options for those who prefer to self-pay for services. This option allows for more flexibility and privacy in your treatment.
-
